In March 2003, the University of Nottingham Ningbo received a generous donation from the Foundation to support the establishment of their Centre for Sustainable Energy Technologies (CSET) and The China Policy Institute, Ningbo. At the same time, the Foundation also established Lesotho Scholarship and Hunan Scholarship Programmes.
Aimed at supporting the University of Hong Kong’s finance and economic studies. The establishment of two ‘Endowed Professorships’ was made possible with a donation from the Foundation.
From 2006 to 2011, the Foundation continuously supported to the Yale-China Association through the setting up of various educational scholarships.
In 2006, the Foundation supported the relief and rebuilding efforts following severe flooding in Hunan.
To celebrate the 2007 Russia-China Culture Year initiative, Dr. Chung Hon Dak championed the performance of contemporary and classical Chinese folk songs in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, Dr. Chung in May 2007 sponsored the production of “Magpie Bridge” by the Beijing National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA).
In a bid to preserve China’s unique historic architectural heritage, the Chung Hon Dak Foundation made a donation in 2008 to The Prince’s Charities Foundation (China) to support its efforts in the preservation of traditional hutongs and courtyard houses in Beijing, China.
In order to promote mutual understanding between the peoples of China and the United Kingdom, HRH The Prince of Wales and a group of influential Chinese business leaders founded The Prince’s Charities Foundation (China) in 2008.
Striving to promote and strengthen students’ comprehensive development, in November 2008, the Foundation sponsored the renovations and refurbishment of Stowe School’s music school facilities.
The Foundation’s support in the rebuilding efforts of an 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile in 2010.
In February 2011, the Foundation donated to the Bodleian Library of the University of Oxford for the preservation and maintenance of the university’s Chinese books, maps and manuscripts. The contribution was also used to preserve and digitalise their Ancient Chinese collection.
The Foundation’s donation to MIT Sloan School helped to relaunch their Yunnan project which is aimed at enhancing the management capabilities of the ever increasing number of small and medium sized enterprises in China.
